RPI

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, is a distinguished private research university and the oldest technological university in the English-speaking world, established in 1824. RPI's 275-acre campus is situated on a hill overlooking Troy, New York, and the Hudson River. Downtown Troy, with its coffee shops, restaurants, and a weekly farmer's market, is a short walk from campus. The campus features a mix of historic Colonial Revival architecture and modern facilities, including state-of-the-art research centers and the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC). Transportation options include a free Rensselaer Shuttle service around campus and to downtown Troy, and free access to Capital District Transit Authority (CDTA) bus routes for students with a valid ID. The Albany International Airport is approximately 10 miles away, and the Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak Station is also easily accessible.

RPI boasts strong career outcomes, with placement rates ranging from 91-95% in recent years. In 2023, 56% of graduates secured employment, and 33% enrolled in graduate school.
