Academics

Penn offers a robust academic environment with four undergraduate schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Wharton School, and the School of Nursing. The university emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, offering double degree programs, unique majors, and academic flexibility through its "One University Policy," which allows undergraduates to take courses across most of Penn's twelve schools. International students constitute 13% of the first-year class. The university provides support services for international students and scholars, including guidance on sponsorship and job searching. In 2020, Penn was home to approximately 5,183 international students, ranking 20th out of 1,279 colleges and universities for popularity among international students.

Campus & Location

Penn's main campus spans approximately 299 acres in the University City neighborhood of West Philadelphia, blending historic and modern architecture. The campus features extensive library resources, with 19 libraries in its system, including the main Van Pelt Library.

Career Outcomes

Penn boasts strong career outcomes for its graduates, with its career services offering advising, resources, and connections to potential employers. Advisors assist students with internship and job searches, and also provide guidance for those preparing for graduate school.
