Tshwane University of Technology

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is a public institution in Pretoria, South Africa, established in 2004 through the merger of three technikons. It is one of the largest residential higher education institutions in South Africa, annually enrolling approximately 60,000 students. TUT focuses on providing vocational qualifications and applied sciences education.

Academics

TUT offers over 300 programs across seven faculties: Arts and Design, Economics and Finance, Engineering and the Built Environment, Humanities, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Management Sciences, and Science. The university is known for its practice-oriented education, particularly in engineering, sciences, and technology fields. Notably, the Faculty of ICT is the only dedicated, stand-alone ICT faculty in South Africa, focusing on research, innovation, and curriculum development in digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cybersecurity.
