About Cracow University of Economics
Cracow University of Economics (CUE) is the largest economics university in Poland, established in 1925. With a motto emphasizing learning "the causes and values of things," CUE aims to provide universal education, blending professional and general knowledge. The university is a modern institution with a rich history, educating approximately 14,000 students, including nearly 2,500 international students.
CUE comprises five faculties: Economics and International Relations, Public Economy and Administration, Finance and Law, Commodity Science and Product Management, and Management. The university offers a wide array of study opportunities, including over 30 fields of study and 59 majors in Polish, and a growing number of programs taught entirely in English at Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels. Notable English-taught programs include International Business, Corporate Finance and Accounting, and Global Finance and Accounting. CUE emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, particularly in programs like International Logistics, which combines logistics, management, quality sciences, and IT.
The International Programs Office (IPO) and the International Relations Office (IRO) at CUE coordinate exchange programs like Erasmus+, CEEPUS, and bilateral agreements with over 200 partner universities worldwide. The Welcome Centre UEK provides comprehensive support to international students, offering information on university structure, administrative procedures, and local insights. CUE also offers English-taught degree programs and short-term "English Track" programs, as well as preparatory English and Polish language courses. Student organizations such as the Erasmus Student Network (ESN UEK) facilitate cultural integration and offer support to international students.
CUE's 7-hectare campus is centrally located in Kraków, close to the main railway and bus stations, and easily accessible by public transportation. The campus features a mix of modern and historic buildings, offering facilities such as a language center, library, sports complex with a swimming pool, canteens, cafes, and a career center. Kraków itself is a vibrant city, recognized as a European Capital of Culture and a hub for startups and international corporations, providing a rich environment for students. The city offers numerous cultural attractions, entertainment options, and student discounts on public transport, museums, and other services.
CUE boasts strong industry connections and a high employment rate, with 85% of its students finding employment before graduation, according to research by the Academic Career Center. The Academic Career Center (ACK) provides extensive support, including job fairs, workshops, training sessions, and individual career counseling to help students and graduates enter the labor market. CUE collaborates with top Polish employers through "Business Academies" and offers opportunities for internships abroad via programs like Erasmus+. Kraków's thriving startup scene, with over 150 companies and a supportive ecosystem, also provides entrepreneurial opportunities for graduates.
