University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC)

The University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) is a private university in Lima, Peru, established in 2011. UTEC was the first university in Peru to obtain a license from the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (SUNEDU) in 2016. It aims to provide a new type of engineering education in Peru, focusing on hands-on learning and innovation.

Academics

UTEC is a technology-specialist university with an active, student-centered educational approach, emphasizing strong partnerships with regional industry. The university integrates Artificial Intelligence into 100% of its academic programs. UTEC offers a wide range of engineering programs, including Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechatronic, Industrial, Electronic, Mechanical, Energy, Bioengineering, Information Systems, Data Science and AI, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Business Analytics. From the first year, undergraduate students engage with global challenges and Sustainable Development Goals through interdisciplinary projects.

International Students

UTEC welcomes international students for exchange programs, offering courses taught in both English and Spanish. Exchange students can study for one term, with academic calendars opening twice a year. The university provides support for the visa process and requires international students to have valid international health insurance. UTEC's Global Academy program offers global courses taught by international visiting faculty, allowing students to earn credits and expand their networks.

Campus & Location

UTEC's urban campus is located in the Barranco district of Lima, with close proximity to Miraflores, both known as touristic districts. The campus buildings, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, have received architectural acclaim.
