MCAST (Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology)

The Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology (MCAST) is Malta's leading vocational education and training institution, established in 2001. It offers a wide array of over 190 full-time and over 300 part-time vocational courses, ranging from certificates to doctoral degrees. MCAST is dedicated to providing education and training that is responsive to the needs of individuals and the economy, with a strong international dimension.

Academics

MCAST comprises six institutes in Malta and a campus in Gozo, each focusing on specific areas of study. These institutes include Applied Sciences, Business Management and Commerce, Creative Arts, Community Services, Engineering and Transport, and Information and Communication Technology. The college emphasizes work-based learning, integrating practical skills through workshops, placements, and real-world industry experience into its curriculum. Notable programs include Malta's first master's in veterinary studies, a bachelor's degree in social work, and new advanced diplomas in fields like phlebotomy and emergency ambulance response.

International Students

MCAST actively supports international students, with a dedicated International Office that helps coordinate international mobilities and agreements with colleges, universities, and companies abroad. Campus & Location

MCAST's main campus is located in Paola, Malta. Paola is a central town in Malta, offering a local experience. The campus features various facilities, and MCAST is currently investing in improving its infrastructure, including new facilities and aiming to centralize operations at the Paola campus. Malta itself is an island in the Mediterranean with a rich history and numerous attractions, offering easy and affordable access to major European cities via Malta International Airport.

Career Outcomes

MCAST boasts high employment rates for its graduates, with over 90% of students finding employment even before graduating. A tracer study revealed that graduates in engineering and transport, ICT, and business and management have the highest full-time employment rates, with 91% of ICT graduates and 90% of engineering and transport graduates in full-time employment. The college maintains strong industry connections, collaborating with partners like PwC Malta to design industry-relevant study programs and offer apprenticeship and internship opportunities. MCAST also promotes an entrepreneurial culture, providing support and guidance for students with innovative business ideas.
