Academics
LMTA offers a wide array of programs across its Faculties of Music, Theatre and Film, and Dance and Movement, with two faculties in Vilnius and one in Klaipėda. Notable programs include instrumental and vocal performance, composition, conducting, music theory, jazz and popular music, acting, directing, cinematography, screenwriting, stage and sound design, dance performance, dance pedagogy, and choreography. The teaching approach emphasizes individual tutoring and collaborative artistic training, with students having numerous opportunities to perform in solo concerts, symphony orchestras, opera studios, choirs, and chamber music ensembles. The curriculum is crafted by internationally acclaimed Lithuanian professors and assessed by international experts.
International Students
LMTA welcomes international students, offering support for career development, including job placement assistance and internships. While the primary language of instruction is Lithuanian, some programs and online courses are available in English. International students receive a living permit in Lithuania during their studies and can participate in exchange programs like Erasmus+ with 106 partner schools in Europe and Nordplus. The Academy also provides accommodation at its student dormitory in Vilnius, with options for single or double rooms, and encourages cultural integration through various student organizations and cultural events.
Campus & Location
LMTA is primarily located in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania, with a branch campus in Klaipėda. Vilnius offers a rich cultural life with numerous symphony orchestras, an opera and ballet theatre, drama and dance theatres, and art centers. The Academy's main headquarters are on Gediminas Avenue, and a new, modern campus at Olandų Street began operating its first two buildings (Faculty of Theatre and Dance, and National Film School) in September 2024. This new campus features specialized studios, classrooms, individual workspaces, editing rooms, performance halls, and a planned student dormitory.
