About Duksung Women's University
Academics
Duksung Women's University provides undergraduate and graduate programs through five colleges: Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Pharmacy, and Art and Design. The university emphasizes a rigorous curriculum designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for their future careers. Notably, Duksung stands out in early childhood education and offers specialized graduate courses, including a Global Business Master's Program for those interested in international trade. The university also promotes interdisciplinary research, with a focus on areas like pharmacy, biotechnology, and gender studies.
International Students
Duksung Women's University actively promotes international exchange and cooperation, welcoming international students to its programs. The university offers various support services, including the Duksung International Affairs Ambassador (DIAA) program, which pairs international students with Korean buddies to help them adjust to campus life and Korean culture. While the primary language of instruction is Korean, some courses, particularly at the graduate level, are taught in English, such as the Global Business Master's Program. The Global Education Institute provides intensive Korean language programs with classes of less than 15 students, and exchange students may be exempt from tuition for these courses.
Campus & Location
Duksung Women's University has two campuses in Seoul: the main Ssangmun Campus and the Jongno Campus. The Ssangmun Campus is situated at the foot of Bukhansan National Park, offering a serene environment, while the Jongno Campus is in the heart of downtown Seoul, providing access to the city's vibrant life and cultural attractions. The university is accessible via public transportation, with the April 19th National Cemetery (Duksung Women's University) station on the Seoul LRT Ui-Sinseol Line located nearby. Campus facilities include a library, housing, sports facilities, and various student clubs and communities.
Career Outcomes
Duksung Women's University aims to prepare students for successful careers through its challenging academic programs and career services. The university's specialized programs often have strong industry connections that facilitate internships and employment opportunities. While specific employment rates can vary by field, the university's focus on developing language and cultural skills is highly valued in the global job market, particularly for companies with interests in Asia.
