University of Calcutta

Established in 1857, the University of Calcutta is a public state research university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It holds the distinction of being the oldest multidisciplinary university in the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asian Region. The university is accredited as an "A" grade university by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has been recognized as a "Five-Star University" and a "Centre with Potential for Excellence" by the University Grants Commission.
