Institute of Technology, Tralee

The Institute of Technology, Tralee (ITT) merged with Cork Institute of Technology to form Munster Technological University (MTU) in January 2021, becoming Ireland's second technological university. The Tralee campus, now known as MTU Kerry Campus, continues to uphold a strong reputation for teaching, learning, and research, offering a diverse range of programs. With a community of over 3,500 students and 250 academic staff, it provides a welcoming and vibrant environment for both Irish and international students.

Academics

MTU Kerry Campus offers a comprehensive array of full-time and part-time programs, from certificate to honors degree, and postgraduate Master's and Doctoral levels. The university's academic structure includes three principal schools: Business, Computing & Humanities; STEM; and Health & Social Sciences. Programs emphasize practical, problem-solving techniques and often include work placements, providing students with valuable industry experience. International Students

MTU Kerry Campus is an international university welcoming students from over 100 countries and offers various support services for international students. The International Office assists with applications, visa and immigration requirements, and provides information on tuition fees and living costs. Students can also access a range of support services, including a health center, counseling, and a Students' Union that organizes numerous clubs and societies to aid cultural integration. Furthermore, eligible non-EU students can apply for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) program for master's, postgraduate diploma, or PhD studies.

Campus & Location

The MTU Kerry Campus is situated in Tralee, County Kerry, a region renowned for its culture, music, arts, and heritage. The university operates across two campuses in Tralee, Dromtacker and Clash Road, both offering easy access to the town center. The North Campus features the Kerry Sports Academy, which includes an indoor sports hall, gym, and hydrotherapy suite, along with a new STEM building. Tralee is well-served by relatively inexpensive bus and rail services, with the train station being a five-minute walk from campus.
