Academics
IADT comprises two main faculties: the Faculty of Film, Art and Creative Technologies, and the Faculty of Enterprise and Humanities. The institution emphasizes a convergence of arts, technology, and enterprise, with a strong focus on creative arts and media, notably housing the National Film School (NFS). Notable programs include Animation, Film & Television Production, Visual Communications, Applied Psychology, User Experience Design, and Cyberpsychology. Students benefit from learning through practice and experience, with courses delivered by talented staff strong in research and industry practice.
International Students
IADT welcomes international students, with courses delivered entirely in English. The International and Admissions Offices collaborate to support a growing international student population, representing 54 countries and 65 different nationalities as of 2023. While IADT does not offer on-campus accommodation, the Students' Union provides advice on welfare, finances, and education, and facilitates numerous clubs and societies for cultural integration. International students may also be eligible for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship.
Campus & Location
IADT's urban campus, spanning 17 acres, is located in Deansgrange, just two kilometers west of Dún Laoghaire. Dún Laoghaire itself is a bustling seaside town south of Dublin, offering a wide range of amenities including gyms, pools, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, cinemas, and parks. The campus features state-of-the-art studios, labs, and production areas, providing practical experience with industry-standard technology. Excellent transportation links connect Dún Laoghaire to the heart of Dublin city and the surrounding countryside.
