Cork Institute of Technology

The Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) was a prominent higher education institution in Cork, Ireland, known for its practical, technology-focused programs. Established in 1973, it became a self-governing body in 1993 and consistently received recognition, including being named "Institute of Technology of the Year" multiple times. On January 1, 2021, CIT merged with the Institute of Technology, Tralee, to form Munster Technological University (MTU), Ireland's second technological university.
