Universitas Andalas

Universitas Andalas (UNAND) is a prominent public research university located in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Established in 1956, it holds the distinction of being the first university in Sumatra and one of the oldest and most prestigious public universities in Indonesia outside of Java. Campus & Location

The main campus of Universitas Andalas is situated in Limau Manis, a hilly and scenic area approximately 12-15 km from Padang city center, offering views of the Indian Ocean. The 500-hectare campus features modern lecture halls, well-equipped laboratories, a central library, and student dormitories. Transportation to and from the campus is facilitated by free white buses and public transportation (angkot), with ride-hailing apps also available. Padang, the capital of West Sumatra, provides a vibrant city life and is close to various natural attractions and cultural sites, including beaches, lakes, and volcanoes.
