University North

University North, located in Koprivnica and Varaždin, Croatia, is a modern and rapidly growing public university established in 2015 through the merger of the University of Applied Sciences in Varaždin and the Media University in Koprivnica. It is the youngest public university in Croatia and the fifth largest in terms of student numbers, with over 5,000 students across its two university centers. The university is dedicated to providing high-quality, practice-oriented education and fostering an international learning environment.

Academics

University North offers 17 practice-oriented study programs across various disciplines, including technical, biomedical, social, and art fields. The university has 20 departments, with offerings such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Multimedia, Journalism, Nursing, Business Economics, and Civil Engineering. Programs are designed in line with the latest scientific and professional trends, with input from over 450 scientists and industry experts. The teaching approach emphasizes practical skills and real-world application, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the job market.

International Students

University North is committed to creating an international learning environment and offers support services for international students through its International Relations Office. While many programs are taught in Croatian, the university also provides a selection of courses in English. The International Relations Office assists with academic guidance, housing, orientation, and everyday life, helping international students integrate into student life in Varaždin and Koprivnica. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Sjever also plays a role in supporting international students and promoting cultural exchange.

Campus & Location

University North operates across two vibrant university centers in Koprivnica and Varaždin, both offering a friendly atmosphere, cultural events, and sports activities. The campuses feature modern learning facilities and student accommodation. Koprivnica and Varaždin are well-connected and provide a pleasant student life experience. A new student dormitory is currently under construction in Koprivnica and is expected to be completed by January 31, 2027.
