The University of Cantabria (UC) is a public institution in Santander, Spain, established in 1972. Academics

International Students


The International Relations Office (IRO) at UC provides comprehensive support for international students, assisting with admissions, visas, residency, and offering welcome and mentor programs. While the academic offer is mostly in Spanish, the university provides Spanish language courses and approximately 275 courses taught in English across various disciplines. The UC actively promotes international mobility through exchange programs with numerous European and Latin American institutions, as well as universities in the United States and Australia. Support for students with educational and integration needs, including psychological support, is also available.

Campus & Location


The main campus of the University of Cantabria is situated in Las Llamas, Santander, with additional campuses in Torrelavega and Comillas. Santander is a coastal city known for its beautiful bay, golden beaches, and a vibrant cultural scene. The city offers a friendly atmosphere with a wide range of cultural and sports attractions, including museums, art galleries, and opportunities for sailing, surfing, and hiking. The University of Cantabria aims to facilitate students' entry into the job market through its Employment Orientation and Information Centre (COIE). The COIE coordinates placement programs with over 1,200 agreements with companies and institutions, providing students with professional experience. It also offers a student curriculum vitae database service for companies and provides information on job vacancies and self-employment. Over 2,200 students participate in these programs annually.
